Case Study: Successful Installation of a 150-Ton Double-Girder Overhead Crane in Paraguay

Dongqi Crane recently designed, manufactured, and delivered a heavy-duty QDX-type double-girder overhead crane to a factory in Paraguay. The crane, with a substantial lifting capacity of 150 tons, a span of 23 meters, and a lifting height of 15 meters, is engineered for robust performance in demanding industrial environments. Operating on a 380V/50Hz/3P power supply, this crane meets both international standards and the client’s specific operational requirements.

The project reached a significant milestone with the successful completion of its on-site installation, a process that took 45 days from start to finish. This achievement was made possible through the dedicated efforts of our dispatched engineers, who worked closely with the client’s team on the ground in Paraguay.

A Collaborative Installation Journey

Our engineers provided comprehensive technical guidance throughout the entire installation process. The procedure was executed in key phases:

  1. Main Girder Installation: The massive, prefabricated main girders—the primary load-bearing structure of the crane—were meticulously positioned and secured onto the runway beams. This step required precision to ensure perfect alignment and a level foundation for the entire system.
  2. Hoist Trolley Assembly: The powerful 150-ton hoist mechanism and trolley system were assembled and mounted onto the girders. This unit is the heart of the crane, responsible for the precise and safe vertical lifting and lowering of loads.
  3. Track Alignment & Electrical Integration: Concurrently, the crane’s runway tracks were precisely aligned to guarantee smooth and friction-free travel of the crane along the workshop bay. Our team also oversaw the integration of all electrical systems, including cabling, control panels, and safety devices, ensuring seamless operation and compliance with safety protocols.

Commissioning and Handover

Following the physical installation, our engineers conducted rigorous testing and commissioning. This involved comprehensive checks of all mechanical functions, electrical systems, and safety features, culminating in load testing to verify the crane’s performance under its rated capacity.

The project concluded with the handover of a fully operational, safety-certified 150-ton overhead crane. The final panoramic photos showcase the impressive crane integrated into the client’s facility, ready to enhance their material handling efficiency and productivity.

This project in Paraguay underscores Dongqi Crane’s capability to deliver end-to-end solutions for heavy lifting needs worldwide—from custom manufacturing and international logistics to expert on-site installation and commissioning support. We are proud to contribute to our client’s operational success and look forward to further collaboration.
