Mining Industry Development Prospects in Pakistan

Pakistan is rich in mineral resources, including coal, limestone, marble, gemstones, rare earths, etc. The extraction and processing of these resources provide important support for Pakistan’s economic development.

However, mining development also faces some challenges. These include backward infrastructure, backward technology, environmental protection issues, production safety issues, etc. In order to solve these problems, the Pakistani government is taking a series of measures, including strengthening the formulation and implementation of mining regulations, strengthening environmental protection and safety production supervision, and promoting technological innovation and industrial upgrading.

In addition, there are also some opportunities in Pakistan’s mining market. With the recovery of the global economy and the development of emerging industries, the demand for mineral resources will continue to increase. Pakistan’s mining companies can improve their competitiveness by strengthening technological innovation, improving production efficiency, and expanding market share.

The hazardous conditions of underground and open-cut mining call for rugged material-handling equipment that is built to endure moisture, corrosion, abrasive dust and ignitable fumes. At Dongqi, we understand the challenges of mining and the problems caused by equipment downtime. So we design and manufacture mining cranes and other material-handling equipment that are equipped to handle the task. We also back the superior design and quality of our equipment with industry-leading service.

Crane Equipment for Mining Industry

Hoisting machinery used in the mining industry is mainly used for loading, transporting and unloading minerals, as well as performing various lifting operations on mines. These lifting machinery mainly include fixed cranes, mobile cranes and cable cranes.

Fixed cranes refer to lifting machinery that is installed on buildings or mines and performs lifting operations through fixed outriggers and booms. This kind of crane is mainly used for loading, transporting and unloading minerals, as well as lifting large equipment and components. Common fixed cranes include tower cranes, gantry cranes, rail-mounted cranes, etc.

A mobile crane refers to a lifting machinery that can move within a certain range and perform lifting operations through a boom. This type of crane is mainly used for various lifting operations in mines, including dismantling equipment, hoisting equipment, excavation, etc. Common mobile cranes include truck cranes, crawler cranes, tire-type cranes, etc.

Cable cranes refer to lifting machinery that lifts heavy objects through cables such as wire ropes or chains. This kind of crane is mainly used for lifting operations across complex terrains such as rivers and valleys, or for lifting large equipment or components. Common cable cranes include cable overhead cranes and cable gantry cranes.

In addition to the above common lifting machinery, there are also other types of lifting machinery, such as electric hoists, balance hoists, winches, etc. These devices are typically used for smaller lifting operations or as auxiliary lifting operations.

Mining is more than dark underground tunnels of men with picks and machines extracting coal – vast opencast pits from which giant bucket excavators load tonnes of rock and ore are mines as well. So too are strip mines, where the overburden is removed and the wanted material is accessed from the surface. There is also placer mining, which is essentially sifting riverbed sands for, typically, gold or gemstones that have been washed down from their original sites by centuries or millennia of water erosion. All of these methods of extracting things we want or need from the ground come under the heading of ‘mining’, and all of them need different kinds of lifting equipment. And these days almost all of them are carried out at extremes of scale, quantity or depth that strain technological ingenuity to its limits.

Customer Reference Story

Process cranes order for South African mines

The material handling business unit of a South African company has been awarded a contract for the use of three process cranes at a South African mine.

Following customer demand, we built three 80-ton double-girder bridge cranes and shipped the equipment to copper mines in Zambia.

The cranes will be used for maintenance and repair work on semi-mobile crushers, which will also be installed on the crane runway.
